To celebrate the release of Ant and Dec’s Once Upon a Tyne in paperback later this year we are offering you the chance to have your words featured in the book!

We want to hear what your absolute favourite memory of them is – which moment over the past 30 years of their career in showbiz and telly did you absolutely love?

To enter, use the form below to write your entry. There’s a 50 word limit and other terms and conditions apply (see them listed below the form).

Ant and Dec will pick ten from a shortlist of entries which will then be printed in the paperback of Once Upon A Tyne, publishing Autumn 2021.

 

ONCE UPON A TYNE PAPERBACK COMPETITION TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. This is a competition for ten people to win their favourite memory of Ant and Dec from their 30 years in showbiz to be featured in the back of the paperback edition of Once Upon a Tyne (‘the “Book”) and to win a copy of the Book which will arrive on publication day with a note from the publishers. To enter, please share your memory using the form above on the Company’s website. Entries must be in English and be no longer than 50 words and must not include music, clips of shows, images or photographs.
  2. Members of the Company’s marketing department will review the entries received in accordance with these Terms and Conditions to select fifty that are the most funny, entertaining or moving (the “Shortlisted Entries”). The ten winners will be chosen by Ant and Dec, who will pick their ten favourite entries from the Shortlisted Entries. Their whose decision will be final. No correspondence will be entered into.
  3. There is no purchase necessary to enter.
  4. The competition opens at 12:01 am BST on 28th April 2021 and closes at 11:59 pm BST on 28th May 2021. Any entries received outside these specified times and dates will not be eligible for entry into the competition.
  5. The winners’ names will be published in the paperback edition of Once Upon A Tyne on publication in Autumn 2021. The winners will not be notified about the inclusion of their entry prior to publication. The winners may see their names and their entries posted on the Company’s website and on other websites and social media accounts.
  6. The competition is open to residents of the UK aged 18 or over except employees of the Company, their families, or anyone professionally connected to the competition  either themselves or through their families.
  7. By submitting their entry, entrants agree and warrant that (i) their entry is their own original work; (ii) nothing in their entry is defamatory, private or an infringement of copyright or other intellectual property right or in any way a breach of another’s right. The Company reserves the right to check this before any prize is distributed. Any entry in breach of this clause will be disqualified from participating in the competition and from winning any prize.
  8. By entering the competition, entrants hereby grant to the Company an irrevocable, perpetual, royalty free, worldwide and for all languages, licence to copy, adapt, edit, distribute, publish, sublicense, and in any and all other ways use their entry for any purpose, in any manner and in all media now known or hereinafter devised. Furthermore, entrants waive all moral rights whatsoever in their entry. For the avoidance of doubt, the Company is under no obligation to make any use of the entries and the Company shall make no payment to any entrant for any use of their entry.
  9. The Company reserves the right to use all the submissions received on its website, its Facebook pages and on its other social networking sites. The Company will try to include the name of the entrant but this may not always be possible.
  10. Only one entry per person allowed. Second or subsequent entries will be disqualified. Entries will not be accepted via agents, third parties or in bulk.
  11. The Company is not responsible for contacting or forwarding prizes to entrants who provide unclear or incomplete information or for entries lost, misdirected, delayed or destroyed.
  12. The Company reserves the right to alter the prizes or cancel the competition without notice but will try to avoid creating any undue disappointment. No cash alternatives to prizes will be provided.  If a winner is unable to accept their prize or cannot be contacted, the Company reserves the right to select another winner from the Shortlisted Entries.
  13. The Company will make available the name and county of the winners to anyone who requests this information by writing to the Company at the address shown below.
  14. The Company is the data controller of Personal Data that it collects in the course of running the competition and will use the Personal Data in accordance with the Company’s Privacy Notice. It will use such Personal Data for the purposes of running the competition and delivering any prize(s) and will delete it after a reasonable period from the end of the competition. “Personal Data” means names of entrants and other details provided by them (e.g. email addresses, telephone numbers) for the competition. The Company will not share such Personal Data with any third parties except for the purpose of delivering the prize(s).
  15. Where entrants have opted-in to receive communications from the Company, the email addresses of entrants will be used by the Company in accordance with its Privacy Notice to send news about books, products and promotions and to invite entrants to participate in surveys. Entrants will be given the option of opting out in those emails if they don’t want to receive any further communications.
  16. By entering the competition entrants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
  17. This competition is being organised by Little, Brown Book Group Limited of Carmelite House, 50 Victoria Embankment, London EC4Y 0DZ (“Company”).
  18. These terms and conditions and any disputes or claims (including non-contractual disputes or claims) arising out of these terms and conditions shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of England, whose courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
