Liberation Unleashed

Ilona Ciunaite
Authors:
Ilona Ciunaite

Author Ilona Ciunaite's search for the truth began when she first "experienced silence of the thinking mind, a sweet sense of being, contentment, peace," and "feeling at home." Driven by a desire to reach that state of oneness once more, her path led her through spiritual writings to the process of deconstruction and non-dual self-inquiry and finally to a peaceful emptiness of not knowing, but of simply being. It's from that place that Ciunaite cocreated the popular Liberation Unleashed forum-a global Internet-based community helping people see through the illusion of a separate self-and it's Mjust that sense of unknowing peace she wishes to impart with this book.Liberation Unleashed is a lively, fresh, and moving account of the author's own searching, liberation, andtransformation, woven together with the stories of fellow seekers and a clear exposition of the simple, focused tools you can use to go through the "gateless gate." With its conversational tone, provocative questions, and the presentation of the seven steps-"Clearing the path-meeting the fear," "Strip away ALL expectations," "Get in touch with the real," "'I' is a thought," "There is no separate self," "How does it feel to see this?" and "Falling"-this book serves as an introductory how-to guide, demonstrating how to use the process of self-inquiry to get free from the falseness of the separate self and realize a blissful oneness. So many of us go through life feeling isolated, searching for ourselves, or seeking a more authentic reality through religion, spirituality, or other, more unconventional means of expanding consciousness. Now, with this book and its guiding principles, you'll learn how to look deeply into the nature of self and existence; combat the anxieties, fears, mental blocks, and reservations that can arise in self-inquiry; and see the simple beauty of the everyday moment.

Painting the Sidewalk with Water

Joan Tollifson
Authors:
Joan Tollifson

These lively talks and dialogues are about seeing through the illusion of separation and waking up to the boundless wholeness that is all there is. Joan's approach is open and explorative, questioning all attempts to conceptually grasp and frame the movement of life. She talks about seeing through the stories and beliefs that create our human suffering and waking up to the simplicity of what is. This book beautifully dissolves the apparent dichotomy between the uncompromising "this is it, just as it is" message of radical non-duality and the emphasis on "being here now" that is found in many meditation teachings. Joan has an affinity with Buddhism, Advaita, and radical non-duality, but she belongs to no tradition. In these talks and dialogues, she takes on such perennial questions as, Is there a way out of personal and global suffering? Can we choose to stop addictive and destructive patterns? Does being awake take effort, vigilance, and practice, or is it effortlessly and unavoidably always already the case? What happens when we die?

Joey Lott

Born and raised in middle America, Joey Lott left university at the age of 19 to seek his fortune in California, where he became a software development prodigy in the dot-com world, overseeing the expansion into New England of the largest, privately-held advertising agency in the world. Becoming dissatisfied with the domineering and claustrophobic nature of corporate culture, he went on to set up his own consultancy which revolutionized the approach to the treatment of clients and employees alike. On a personal level, however, Joey had from an early age suffered from intense forms of anxiety. For decades he had lived with restrictive eating disorders, obsessions, compulsions and an inescapable sense of fear. Despite his attempts to find solace through psychedelic drugs, diet, philosophy, meditation and a variety of extreme practices and beliefs, by the age of 30 he was physically sick, emotionally volatile, and obsessed with keeping any and all unwanted thoughts and experiences at bay. By this point, he had given up his career and was living on a futon mattress in a tiny cabin in the woods, so sick that he could barely move. Too exhausted now to maintain his habitual forms of emotional self-defence, an insight awakened in him: he discovered that many hidden assumptions supported the sense of imprisonment that had so restricted his life. By investigating these assumptions and welcoming every experience that came his way, he began gradually to discover that in reality nothing was as he had imagined it to be. He discovered, in fact, that the true nature of life is unbounded and utterly free. In his own words: "The secret to happiness is to let go of everything - see through every assumption." Joey now lives with his family in New Mexico, USA.
