Catherine Carus is the author of Overcoming Chronic Pain, along with Frances Cole, Helen Macdonald and Hazel Howden-Leach. She is a registered physiotherapist currently teaching at the University of Bradford, and she specializes in the assessment and management of musculoskeletal conditions.

David Veale

David is the author of Overcoming Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Manage Your Mood, along with Rob Willson. He is a consultant psychiatrist in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy at the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and the Priory Hospital, North London. He is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Psychiatry, King's College London. He is an accredited cognitive behaviour therapist and President of the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies 2006-8. Dr Duncan Carmichael

Dr Duncan Carmichael is a medical doctor with 25 years of experience in the profession. He is a regular speaker and lecturer at conferences on aesthetic and anti-aging medicine in his home country and abroad, and has written numerous articles on healthy aging.He qualified in South Africa then trained further in Europe where he studied nutrition, hormone balancing and aesthetic medicine. Frances Cole

Dr Frances Cole was a GP and pain rehabilitation specialist. She developed the first UK primary and community care pain rehabilitation programme based on cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) principles in 1996. She developed a pain health needs assessment tool that won an NHS Modernisation award in 2005 and gained an NHS National Clinical Leaders Award in 2011. Frances is a past chair of the British Pain Society Pain Management Programme Special Interest Group whose current focus is on multidisciplinary pain management. Her current work is on digital self-management tools for pain including apps.

Hazel Howden-Leach

Hazel Howden-Leach is the author of Overcoming Chronic Pain, along with Frances Cole, Helen Macdonald and Catherine Carus. She works at the University of Liverpool's School of Tropical Medicine as Educational Technologist/Technical Advisor, with respect to the development of health-related educational materials.

Helen Macdonald

Helen Macdonald is the author of Overcoming Chronic Pain, along with Frances Cole, Catherine Carus and Hazel Howden-Leach. She is a cognitive behavioural psychotherapist and obtained a Master's Degree in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy, with a dissertation examining the effectiveness of assisted self-help for chronic pain. She was recognized as a Chartered Health Psychologist in March 2004.

Ilana Jacqueline

Jan Scott

Jan Scott, an internationally renowned expert in the use of CBT in the treatment of depression and bipolar disorder, is the author of Overcoming Mood Swings. Head of Glasgow University's Department of Psychiatry, she is a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and the International Association of Cognitive Psychotherapists. Martin M. Antony

Martin M. Antony, PhD, is professor and chair in the department of psychology at Ryerson University in Toronto, Ontario. Mary Burgess

Dr Burgess, author of Overcoming Chronic Fatigue, has worked as a therapist in the area of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) for more than ten years. She is both a clinician and a researcher, at Guy's, King's and St Thomas' School of Medicine in London. Much of her research has been into ways of bringing treatment to CFS patients who, because of their illness, have difficulty attending her clinics. Matthew Johnstone

Matthew McKay, PhD, is a professor at the Wright Institute in Berkeley, CA. He has also penned two fiction novels, Us and The Wawona Hotel. Melanie Fennell

Russ Harris

Dr Russ Harris was born in Liverpool, England. After graduating in medicine from the University of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, he emigrated to Australia. As a family doctor, he became increasingly interested in the psychological aspects of medical illness (and increasingly less interested in writing prescriptions). In his eclectic career, he has been a stand-up comedian, sex therapist, filmmaker, novelist, and workshop presenter. He now practices as a psychological health physician in Melbourne.
