A book about choices. A book to empower all cancer sufferers and their families.

In March 2011 Laura Bond’s mother Gemma was diagnosed with ovarian and uterine cancer. Laura discovered that the only thing more shocking than telling someone your mother has cancer was revealing that she had declined chemotherapy. But, according to studies, many oncologists would do the same. So Laura, a journalist, started writing a blog to explain her mother’s decision to say ‘no’ to mainstream medicine and ‘yes’ to hydrogen peroxide, vitamin C injections and infrared saunas.

Mum’s Not Having Chemo shares Gemma’s natural healing story as well as advice from over 60 of the world’s leading cancer specialists and holistic healers – from oncologists in Tokyo to energy healers in Harley Street.

If you want to explore alternative options, or find ways to supplement your conventional care, this book provides cutting edge research from around the world and describes treatments road-tested by Gemma and other cancer survivors. It’s an invaluable and uplifting companion to help you make the best choices for your own healing journey.

This is the book the world needs to change the face of modern health-care - an absolute must for anyone with cancer and their relatives and friends. Facing a diagnosis of 'The Big C' can be terrifying and for most people their treatment plan and daunting future path is presented to them as a fait accompli. The author's mother Gemma Bond chose a path less trodden and this book beautifully documents the emotional rollercoaster she went on, and the physical challenges she faced. Because Laura has a journalistic mind she has thoroughly researched and really dug out not only the facts and science behind alternative treatments and therapies, but she also provides a very human approach from her experience of supporting her mum. Best of all she clearly lays out how to source these options and gives realistic suggestions. This book is unique and it's also a brilliant resource for the currently 'well'. When it comes to building immunity and cancer prevention, there little to rival it. It's moving, inspirational, informative and wonderfully uplifting all at the same time
