We're Going On A Bar Hunt

A Parody

By Emlyn Rees and Josie Lloyd
Illustrated by Gillian Johnson

  • Hardback
  • £9.99

An hilarious parody of We're Going On A Bear Hunt.

We're going on a bar hunt.
We're going to find a cool one.
The babysitter's booked.
We're not old!

Bestselling authors Emlyn Rees and Josie Lloyd also happen to be parents, so they understand the complications of organising a rare night out. In this parody of the famous children's book, two parents set off for a night on the tiles, and encounter a series of watering holes and bars before an alarming encounter with a 'bear' sends them running home to their children.

Gillian Johnson is the author and illustrator of the successful Monster Hospital and Thora series for children. Her illustrations bring this story to life, gently parodying the original but adding an anarchic edge as the evening progresses.

We're not going on a bar hunt again!

Fatherhood

William McInnes
Authors:
William McInnes

William McInnes, one of Australia's best-known storytellers and actors, has turned to a subject that is close to his heart. Fatherhood is about family, about memories of his father and the memories he's creating as a dad himself, with his own son and daughter.Warm, witty and nostalgic, these tales are just like a friendly chat over the back fence, or the banter of a backyard BBQ. They will stir your own memories: of hot summer days and cooling off under the sprinkler while Dad works in the garden with the radio tuned to the sports results; that time Dad tried to teach you to drive - and then got out of the car and kissed the ground; or taking your own kids on a family road trip.Fatherhood is full of memories: the happy, the hilarious, the sad, bad, and the unexpectedly poignant moments. You will laugh, you may even cry - but you will recognise yourself and those you love somewhere in these pages.

From a mind as lucid and witty as it is kind and empathetic comes essential reading for the planet.' EMMA THOMPSONIn 2015 I described myself as 'guilty feminist' for the first time. My goals were noble but my concerns were trivial. Ali, Reubs Walsh, Becca Bunce, Amika George, Mo Mansfied and Leyla Hussein - plus a piece from Hannah Gadsby.Praise for THE GUILTY FEMINIST podcast:'Hilarious, irreverent, eternally surprising, classy as hell, genius comedians ...
