The first instalment in Inspector Singh's celebrated new series, where he travels throughout Asia busting crimes!

Inspector Singh is in a bad mood. He's been sent from his home in Singapore to Kuala Lumpur to solve a murder that has him stumped. Chelsea Liew - the famous Singaporean model - is on death row for the murder of her ex-husband. She swears she didn't do it, he thinks she didn't do it, but no matter how hard he tries to get to the bottom of things, he still arrives back at the same place - that Chelsea's husband was shot at point blank range, and that Chelsea had the best motivation to pull the trigger: he was taking her kids away from her.

Now Inspector Singh must pull out all the stops to crack a crime that could potentially free a beautiful and innocent woman and reunite a mother with her children. There's just one problem - the Malaysian police refuse to play ball...

The Polish Detective

Hania Allen
Authors:
Hania Allen

Volatile times in a volatile city...Polish-born detective Dania Gorska, seconded to Dundee's Specialist Crime Division, is called to investigate three murders in which the bodies of the victims are posed in different ways; the first is dressed and staged as a scarecrow while the other two are displayed in an equally bizarre manner. She is unable to establish what links them but clues point to their having been members of a druidic cult - something which her investigative journalist brother Marek is pursuing for his paper.Although Dania's main focus is in solving the murders, she finds herself increasingly drawn to the case of two runaway teenage girls. But when she learns that they were members of the same druid group, she becomes convinced that their disappearance is linked to the murders. And her growing suspicion that the local laird of Backmuir is involved puts her in grave danger...Praise for Hania Allen: 'Nicely nasty in all the right places, this is an assured debut by Hania Allen... The story rattles along until bringing the curtain down with an unnerving twist' - Craig Robertson, author of Cold Grave, Random, and Witness the Dead'Captivating characters and an intriguing plot. A great new find for crime fans' - Lin Anderson, author of the Rhona MacLeod crime series 'Pitch-perfect, combined with a clever mystery, but more than that, it's a witty, tense crime novel written in a highly readable style' - Russel D McLean, author of the J McNee detective series

When Bunny Pederson disappears after being a bridesmaid at her best friend's wedding, the police call for volunteers to help search for her. One of them, a travelling shirt salesman, discovers the woman's amputated finger and the missing person inquiry becomes a murder investigation. In the absence of a body, the salesman, Justice Trip, is courted by the media - a position he'd learned to enjoy from a similar experience some years previously. Paris Murphy, a detective with the Minneapolis-St Paul's Police Department, remembers Trip from her schooldays and isn't convinced by his act as a caring citizen, especially when Bunny's body is found in an area Trip had visited. The case isn't strictly in her jurisdiction, but it is a welcome distraction from her failing marriage and her guilt over an affair she knows isn't really over. Justice Trip was ugly, still lived with his invalid father in a trailer park and his c.v. was a repetitive litany of firings from dead-end jobs. But he was very successful at killing people - and getting away with murder - until Paris Murphy crosses his path.

Paris Murphy, half-Irish, half-Lebanese, is extremely good at her job, though far less successful in her private life, which is a mess: she's got an on/off marriage to an ER doctor, a looming affair with a colleague in the forensic department and a mother who always calls at the worst possible moment. Tracking down killers is a far more attractive proposition than tidying up her own affairs and her latest investigation is gripping. The murder of a prostitute in St Paul's is the latest in a series of killings, and the police are sure they know who they are after - a successful plastic surgeon, scion of a powerful local family - and it is up to Paris and her partner, Gabe, to prove their case. But hard evidence is hard to come by, until Paris herself attracts the killer's attention ...

She's in the United States on sabbatical with St Louis PD, and he's keen to see her again. Simms is working with a 'method swap' team, reviewing cold cases, sharing expertise. But Simms came to the US to escape the fallout from their previous case - the last thing she needs is Fennimore complicating her life.A call for help from a sheriff's deputy in Oklahoma seems like a welcome distraction for the professor - until he hears the details: a mother dead, her child gone - echoes of Fennimore's own tragedy.Nine-year-old Red, adventuring in Oklahoma's backwoods, has no clue that he and his mom are in the killer's sights. Back in St Louis, investigators discover a pattern: victims - all of them young mothers - dumped along a 600 mile stretch of I-44. The Oklahoma and St Louis investigations converge, uncovering serial murders across two continents and two decades. Under pressure, the killer begins to unravel, and when a fresh body surfaces, the race is on to catch the I-44 killer and save the boy.
