Peter Haining was a prolific editor of anthologies and collections throughout all subgenres of fiction, and he also wrote his own short stories, recently a series about the Second World War. He collected and edited several books about Sherlock Holmes including The Sherlock Holmes Scrapbook and The Television Sherlock Holmes to tie in with the iconic Jeremy Brett series of the eighties and nineties. He died in 2007.Peter Haining wrote and edited a number of acclaimed books on the supernatural, including Ghosts: The Illustrated History, and A Dictionary of Ghosts, as well as fiction anthologies The Mammoth Book of Modern Ghost Stories. A former publisher and much admired figure, he died in 2007. He lived in a sixteenth-century house in Suffolk that is haunted by the ghost of a Napoleonic prisoner of war.

Robert A. Harper, Ph.D. was a psychology and sociology professor, a psychiatric social worker in the U.S. Army, and prominent marriage and family counselor. He wrote several books with Albert Ellis, including Creative Marriage, A Guide to Successful Marriage, and A Guide to Rational Living, among others. His Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy: 36 Systems was one of his most influential books. He lived and practiced in Washington, D.C., until his passing in 2004.

Dr Craig Hassed is an internationally recognised expert in Mindfulness who has widely presented at national and international seminars and conferences and has published extensively in the areas of Mind Body medicine and Mindfulness. Jock Haswell was educated at Winchester and Sandhurst, from where he was commissioned into The Queen's Royal Regiment (West Surrey) in June 1939. During the Second World War he fought in India, East Africa, Ethiopia and Madagascar, returning to serve in Germany in the psot-war period. He retired in 1960, having attained the rank of major, but was employed by the Ministry of Defence at the School of Service Intellligence. He is the author of a number of books on military history, including the history of his own regiment, British Military Intelligence, Citizen Armies and Spies and Spymasters.

He served as infantry officer during the war, was twice wounded and was awarded the Military Cross in 1945. Described by Professor J. H. Plumb as 'a writer of the highest ability', he was, in the words of the Times Educational Supplement, 'perhaps the most gifted popular historian' of his day. Christopher Hibbert was a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and an Hon. D. Litt of Leicester University.

Geoffrey Hindley (1935-2014), educated at Kingswood School, Bath and University College Oxford, is a lecturer and writer. He was three times an invited participant at the International Congress on Medieval Studies, Western Michigan University; was visiting associate professor at the University of Florida, Gainesville; and lectured in Europe and America on European culture,medieval social history and Magna Carta, and the history of music. From 1994 to 2000 he taught English civilization at the University of Le Havre. Right up until his death he was co-president of the Society for the History of Medieval Technology and Science of Oxford and London. His many books include The Shaping of Europe,England in the Age of Caxton, The Book of Magna Carta, A Brief History of the Crusades and A Brief History of the Anglo-Saxons.
