Alan Barclay

Dr Alan Barclay is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian and Accredited Nutritionist and has a PhD on the association between glycemic index and glycemic load and the risk of developing lifestyle-related diseases. He is currently the Chief Scientific Officer at Glycemic Index Foundation. Prior to that he worked at Diabetes Australia, most recently as Head of research. In addition, he has maintained a private practice for nearly twenty years. Alan is an official Media Spokesperson for the Dietitians Association of Australia and has appeared frequently in local newspapers, magazines, radio and television news. His articles have been published widely in scientific journals and he is co-author of The Low GI Diet Diabetes & Pre-diabetes Handbook and The Ultimate Guide to Sugars and Sweeteners.

Professor Jeno Barcsay taught applied anatomy at the Budapest Academy of Fine Arts. He died in 1988.

Jeffrey E. Barnett, PsyD, ABPP, is associate dean for graduate programs and the social sciences, and a professor in the department of psychology, at Loyola University Maryland and a licensed psychologist in independent practice in Baltimore, Maryland. He has given over 200 presentations and workshops for mental health professionals and has over 200 publications in print and online. Jeffrey Barnett has published nine books thus far, one of which is in its second edition and one of which is in its seventh edition. He is widely published in ethics and professional practice issues for mental health professionals with many of his books being written broadly for all mental health professionals, not just psychologists. Additionally, he has received numerous professional awards on the national level and has presented regularly for decades at conferences for mental health professionals.

Having trained at Oxford, Cambridge and Harvard universities, Jenny has authored more than 50 scientific publications on topics ranging from new treatments for schizophrenia to the economic impact of dementia. She now works at the intersection of academic and industrial research, designing new technologies to help detect, diagnose and treat brain disorders. Her first book, Growing Up Happy, with Alexia Barrable, was published by Robinson in 2016.

Weekends on the family farm and long school holidays fishing and beachcombing in a remote cottage without running water and electricity are some of his fondest childhood memories. When not outside, he is a primary school teacher and is passionate about getting kids outdoors and active. He coaches cross country and enjoys running and exploring the local hills where he lives.
