Paul Walters had followed his father's professional footsteps as a freelance `fixer' for the CIA in Europe, so when his parents are assassinated in their own home he automatically turns to his contacts to try and trace the killer. His search leads him to Italy where a respected German academic appears to be the prime mover behind a fanatical scheme to bring peace to the world's warring nations and removing Paul's father was his opening shot.
