Book retailer WHSmith is sponsoring the Children's Book of the Year at the Galaxy Book Awards and Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer is on the longlist in the 'fluent readers (12+)' category.

Voting is exclusive to WHS customers and is now open at www.whsmith.co.uk.

There will be two rounds of voting:

- Round One (to 20th February) will decide the winners from each of the five categories to create the shortlist.

- Round Two (from 9th March to 27th March) will choose the winner from the final shortlisted titles.

In Round One, Children are invited to vote for their favourite book in each category. In Round Two, a single vote per entrant will decide the overall winner: the book that has the most votes will win the Children's Book of the Year Award 2009, which will be announced live on TV by Richard and Judy in April.
