Write Your Own Great Tale Competition

Attention all secondary school teachers. Get your Year 10 and 11, and 12 and 13 students to bring the past to life by writing a Great Tale! Students can compose their tale on the subject of any episode or personality in recorded British history. This might be their own take on a well-known event like the Battle of Hastings, or some little known, but documented, episode from the history of their neighbourhood.

The stories will be judged by historian Robert Lacey and there will be a range of prizes, including the publication of the winning entries.

Entry is limited to two stories per school per year group and entries must be received by Friday 11th April 2008.
