The Aldridge Foundation and The Prince’s Trust are donating 2,500 copies of Mark Johnson's book Wasted to every prison in the UK.
The book tells the story of Mark's struggle to turn his life around following his descent into drug addiction and criminality.
This summer Mark is also taking part in The Commission, a new Channel 4 series looking at youth crime, hosted by Cherie Blair.
Mark is currently giving several interviews to promote the paperback of Wasted.
Listen out for him on BBC local radio stations in Ulster, London, Oxford, Cumbria, Leeds and Liverpool, plus pieces in the Independent on Sunday (including Mark interviewing ex-prisoners), Scottish Sun, Sunday Herald, Big Issue and Time Out. Mark will also be taking over as guest editor of the Guardian's Society section for one issue.
