Amanda Craig talks to InterviewOnline.co.uk

In an audio interview posted on www.interviewonline.co.uk, Amanda Craig talks about her new novel, Hearts and Minds, which was published by Little, Brown at the end of April.

From the Interview Online introduction: "While seriously ill for three years, Amanda tells The Interview Online that she was inspired to find out more about the immigrant population - individuals upon whom she found herself dependent. Who are these people that many would prefer to label simply as 'bogus asylum seekers' and what motivates them to risk everything to come to Britain?

"Amanda Craig also explains in the video that like Charles Dickens in Victorian times, she researched her novel by talking to the 'hidden society' of London – in her case teenage prostitutes from Eastern Europe. She reveals that it was surprisingly easy to encourage them to talk once they realised she wasn't from the police or social services."
