    The best new year's resolution I ever made was more of a present to myself:  the gift of time to write.  A few years back, I took a look at my annual schedule of interviews, speaking engagements and book tours and thought of how all those things -- which are important as well -- kept edging into writing time.  I decided to block out the first three months of every year for writing and only writing.
